1. The Awakening

The awakening painting was created by first making a pencil sketch on paper then scanning it into the computer. I used Corel Painter 7 & IX to paint the image. Mostly I used the soft charcoal variant of charcoal & the artist...

2. Moon Goddess

I’ve had a love affair with the moon ever since I was child, and my favorite past time was going outside after sunset to swing on my swing set, until the moon came out. I would sing to the moon and mom would play the guitar, it was...

The Lady of the lake from the Arthurian legend has always fascinated me, and the moment I laid eyes on a photograph sent to me of my niece Tessa, I knew I had found my inspiration for the painting of Nimue. It was a photo of Tessa,...

Monday

I have been a busy bee over the past week or so. Unfortunately, this means I have had less time for blogging.

I’ve been in the studio everyday from early morning to late afternoon working on two paintings for the Egyptian series. Yes, I have been hard at play and loving every moment of it!

Sekmet

Sekmet -Acrylic Art – Mixed Media Collage – 17 x 21 inches on paper

thought for the day: “If you want to get better at painting or making art, then do it everyday (passionately/religiously) as if there is no tomorrow. Let go of the judge within, and be surrounded by positive, supportive people. Be gentle on yourself and others. Give. Never hold back. – Nancy Davies Bilbro

Blossoms Everywhere

May Flowers

thought for the day:

“‘Tis like the birthday of the world,
When earth was born in bloom;
The light is made of many dyes,
The air is all perfume:
There’s crimson buds, and white and blue,
The very rainbow showers
Have turned to blossoms where they fell,
And sown the earth with flowers.”
–   Thomas Hood

Monday

Over the last few days, I haven been working on this painting. I still have quite a bit left to do on this one, including adding gold leaf and finishing the hair.

Meanwhile, waiting in the wings is the next project that I will be working on “Sekmet”.

Egyptian Series #2

Egyptian Series in progress # 2 – Acrylic/Mixed Media Collage – 16 x 20 inches on paper

thought for the day:

“Don’t ask what the world needs.
Rather ask – what makes you come alive?
Then go and do it!
Because what the world needs is people
who have come alive”
— Howard Thurman

“Creativity can be described as letting go of certainties.” – Gail Sheehy

Jewelry Muse

My Jewelry Desk

I have spent the last couple of days creating some new pieces of jewelry for my new PayPal Store. Needless to say my jewelry muse is in the house and hard at work. lol

Today, I’m working on the “unique one of a kind pendulums that I make, and some new meditation beads & rosaries. Go here to see some of the pendulums I have made in the past.

One of the pendulums I made this afternoon is similar to the Amethyst Pendulum Necklace at my Gaia’s Garden Blog site.

thought for the day: “Help me to find my happiness in my acceptance of what is my purpose: in friendly eyes; in work well done; in quietness born of trust,  and, most of all, in the awareness of your presence in my spirit.” – Alistair MacLean, Hebridean Altars
