Happy solstice everyone <\/em><\/strong>~ wherever you are in the world! Summer has arrived and it’s been a sweltering hot day. Outside its 96 degrees.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I have been managing to stay nice and cool with a fan blowing, tucked away in my studio working. Here are a couple of projects I’ve been working on lately.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then followed that beautiful season ~ Summer. Filled was the air with a <\/em><\/span>
\ndreamy and magical light; and the landscape lay as if new created in all the <\/em><\/span>
\nfreshness of childhood.” ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Now it is time to put away the mess on my table and clean my dirty brushes. I have finished dipping my brush into a soup in which bits of inspiration have been simmering for months or maybe years. The perfect word for today ~ Unfurling . . .<\/p>\n

Here is one of my favorite poems by Mary Oliver<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Something whispered something<\/span><\/p>\n

that was not even a word.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was more like a silence<\/span><\/p>\n

that was understandable.<\/span><\/p>\n

I was standing<\/span><\/p>\n

at the edge of the pond.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nothing living, what we call living,<\/span><\/p>\n

was in sight.<\/span><\/p>\n

And yet, the voice entered me,<\/span><\/p>\n

my body-life,<\/span><\/p>\n

with so much happiness.<\/span><\/p>\n

And there was nothing there<\/span><\/p>\n

but the water, the sky, the grass.<\/span><\/p>\n
